- 1200 Euro/vehicle before March 1, 2008
- 1600 Euro/vehicle before June 1, 2008
- 2000 Euro/vehicle before Sept 1, 2008
- 2400 Euro/vehicle after Sept 1, 2008
The competitors must complete daily stages on time as well as solve geo-challenges. You can collect points for the stages and the challenges. The results will be scored and we will announce the winner in Bamako at the end of the race. Speed is not a deciding factor. Skill, endurance and luck are. One vehicle maximum 4 persons.
Touring category:
- 300Euro/person before March 1, 2008
- 400Euro/person before June 1, 2008
- 500Euro/person before Sept 1, 2008
- 600Euro/person after Sept 1, 2008
In this category there are no rules, no timing, no scoring. The only thing that counts is the purpose and the challenge. The participants are allowed to choose which road they take to Bamako. By paying the entry fee you'll get the right to participate in the 2009 Budapest-Bamako, the Great African Run.
In addition the participants get the following:

- Recommendaitons for visas
- Maps
- Numbers
- Complete road book
- Government permits and recommendaitons
